Things I'm Digging This Week

Hello everyone! I hope everybody had a happy and safe New Year. We spent a quiet Christmas at home, and spent New Years Eve with our besties and their kids. So, for my first post of the new year, here are a few things I'm digging this week:

Timber Peak
I bought my husband the "Last Night On Earth" game expansion "Timber Peak" for Christmas. We got to play it on New Years Eve when our friends came over for dinner. It was so much fun. What I like about this game is that you can play it in conjunction with the other LNOE game/expansions OR you can play it as a stand-alone game. My friend Danielle over at Geek and Glam blog and her husband played with us, and they're LNOE veterans. Danielle and I played the heroes (who *very* narrowly lost) and our respective husbands played the zombie horde. I'll be posting a game review some time soon outlining the game and the differences between Timber Peak and the previous LNOE game and expansion.

Spiralizer Apple Peeler
Words can hardly express how much I love my new Spiralizer apple peeler. It peels, slices, and cores apples, pears, and potatoes. It makes my life SO much easier when I want to can apple sauce or apple butter. It used to take me a really long time to core, peel, and dice my apples (I usually do 5lbs at a time) and now it takes me a few minutes. Now, I know you're probably thinking "Meridith, who the hell cares about peeling apples?" I DO. My kids go through apple sauce like it's going out of style so anything that makes canning apple sauce easier for me becomes a beloved and venerated appliance in my kitchen. My spiralizer has joined my Kitchen Aid stand mixer and immersion blender in the upper echelons of kitchen gadgetry.

Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons Eye Shadow Pallet
Last November I redeemed my Ipsy points for the new Too Faced eye shadow pallet. I was able to redeem my points for the pallet before they went on sale, and received it in my December Ipsy bag. Not only is the pallet cute (the heart shaped shadows remind me of being a kid; little me would have adored makeup like this) but it also smells wonderful. The shadow has cocoa in it, and it smells faintly of chocolate. The colors range from neutral taupes and browns to bold pinks and purples. All in all, it's a really fun pallet made all the more fun because it was free.
