I have been so busy that I haven't been able to make time for writing. My family and I took a trip home to Virginia to visit my mom, dad, and brothers. We took a break in Memphis, TN to go to the zoo there. It was uh-mazing. The kids had a wonderful time. Nate and I loved it, and the only thing that would have made the visit better would have been if we could have fed/petted/rode the giraffes there.
Since our arrival in VA we've been visiting friends, shopping, having family time, and watching baseball games. All three of my youngest brothers play baseball so we've been watching them, but we've also gone to a Potomac Nationals game in Woodbridge.
We went to a cookout/pool party on Independence Day, and had a blast. Yesterday my mother, brother Jackson, my two sons, and I went on a day trip to Amherst, VA to visit my Nana and her wonderful husband Cal on their farm. The kids had an awesome time running around and playing with the animals. My Nana and Cal have cows, chickens, horses, an awesome donkey named General Mosby, and dogs. Jack, Liam, and Owen rode one of their horses, Peach.
Tomorrow we're heading up to the National Zoo with a friend of mine and her kids. I'm excited because my husband and I haven't been there since we were kids, and I know Liam and Owen will love it. On Friday my sister from another mister, Haley, my mom and I are going to a place similar to Painting with a Twist where we can paint and drink wine, so that's going to be spectacular. Next week before we head home Nathan and I are going to have a day to ourselves and we're going to D.C. to check out some museums and memorials that Nathan didn't get to see when we lived here. We head home on Wednesday. So far we've had a really fun time, and I am totally and completely exhausted.
